Position overview:

The controller will have direct responsibility for management of Insulet’s accounting group, the timely and accurate preparation of the Company’s financial reports and SEC filings, as well as oversight of tax compliance and internal controls compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley).

JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (Listed in order of importance)

Responsibilities include directing the accounting function, maintaining financial records, establishing and maintaining controls and procedures, monthly close, year end close and preparing financial reports.

  • Direct Insulet’s accounting group
  • Prepare financial statements, financial notes
  • Oversee, develop and maintain solid financial closings
  • Ownership of day-to-day relations with external auditors
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting schedules and requirements in collaboration with external auditors
  • Develop, implement and enforce company-wide accounting policies and procedures.
  • Interact with finance management to implement and execute improvements to corporate financial processes
  • Perform research on emerging GAAP and perform ongoing evaluation of disclosure requirements
  • Work with the Company’s external advisors on key areas of financial reporting, tax and control programs
  • Support preparation of the Company’s annual proxy statement and coordinate the documentation of information herein.
  • Oversee Insulet’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley:
    -  Oversee risk assessment
    -  Maintain documentation of control activities
    -  Ensure execution of test programs
  • Participate in evaluation and implementation of various projects aimed at improving systems and processes supporting Insulet’s financial reporting
  • Other duties as assigned
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
 
Requirements
Professional Experience
  • Minimum 4 years relevant work experience
  • Public accounting preferred
Knowledge / Education
  • Master’s Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • CPA designation preferred
Skills / Competencies
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership impact
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of an organization
  • PC skills, accounting systems.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
